Produktionsstopp in brasilianischer Eisenerzmine von Vallourec

Am vergangenen Samstag rutschte nach außergewöhnlich starken Regenfällen im Bundesstaat Minas Gerais (Brasilien) Material von einer Halde des Vallourec-Bergwerks Pau Branco auf eine naheliegende Autobahn. Der Verkehr kam daher zum Erliegen, Verletzte waren nicht zu beklagen.
Nun wurde dem Konzern eine Geldstrafe von ca. 45 Mio. Euro auferlegt. Diesen Bescheid wird das Unternehmen anfechten und es finden derzeit Beratungen zwischen dem Team von Vallourec und den zuständigen Behörden statt, um eine schnelle Wiederaufnahme des Betriebs zu erreichen. Die Produktion in dem Bergwerk ruht derzeit bis die Stabilität der Halde überprüft worden ist.
