Neujahrsempfang der Stahlindustrie in Berlin

Mit dem Zukunftsdialog Stahl gestern in Berlin stellte sich das neue Führungsteam der Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl offiziell vor. Nachdem Hans Jürgen Kerkhoff 14 Jahre lang als Präsident und zuvor als Geschäftsführer und Leiter Politik der Stahlindustrie in Berlin und Brüssel eine Stimme verlieh, schied er zum 1.1.23 aus. Er überreichte den Staffelstab an Bernhard Osburg.

Alle Redner des Abends würdigten die Arbeit des früheren Präsidenten. Der neue Präsident, Bernhard Osburg, formulierte in seiner Ansprache die Vision der deutschen Stahlindustrie für die kommenden Jahre.

Die grüne Transformation erlaubt keinen Aufschub mehr und muss jetzt umgesetzt werden. Damit einhergehend ergeben sich auch für eine Vielzahl von Wertschöpfungsketten Potenziale und Chancen zur Dekarbonisierung.

Das Abendprogramm war voll wichtiger Impulse, u.a. aus der Politik von Dr. Jörg Kukies, Staatssekretär im Bundeskanzleramt sowie von Michael Keller, Parlamentarischer Staatssekretär, Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz.

Unisono stellten die Redner fest, dass es gilt, die richtigen Rahmenbedingungen für eine zukunftsfähige Stahlindustrie in Deutschland zu schaffen. Abschließend ging es im Panel mit Reiner Blaschek, ArcelorMittal Germany, Prof. Dr. Veronika Grimm, Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, dem Sachverständigenrat Wirtschaft, Holger Lösch, BDI, und Dr. Kirsten Westphal von der H2Global Stiftung um die Zeitenwende in der Industriepolitik.
